Behaviour Support Officer

Pay: £57.50-£65.00 per day


Empowering Learning are working closely with a number of Special Schools across South Wales we have been approached by a Pupil Referral Unit to find an experienced Support Officer to fill the vacancy. You would need to be able to differentiate your work on a daily basis to help engage the pupils in the work and you may be needed in a variety of different classes.

The school caters for students who have been excluded or are in the process of being excluded and require additional support.

The Ideal Candidate:

* Experience in youth work, young offending, psychology graduates, ex-military or sports backgrounds.

* Keen interest in supporting challenging behaviour.

* Team teach Trained (We can help with this training if required)

* A passion for wanting to change young peoples lives.

You must have experience with young people who can display very challenging behaviour however; this does not have to be in a school-based environment. Here at Empowering Learning we do not restrict our candidates, therefore, we employ a wide range of career backgrounds including Carers, Police Officers / PCSO's, Foster Carers, Youth support workers and many more.

You must have the ability to build a rapport with a non-judgemental attitude and be passionate about improving the lives of young people.

The ideal candidate will be willing to work on a supply basis initially whilst we seek a longer-term opportunity for you. The school are known to appoint candidates on a longer-term basis. However, longer term opportunities usually arise quickly for those candidates who show initiative, are proactive and receive positive feedback from their supply assignments
