Credit Controller - £22,000

Job Purpose:

As Credit Controller you will be responsible for cash collection from your own allocated ledger. You will be assessed on your ability to communicate with external customers to facilitate prompt cash collection and liaise with internal departments to obtain a good understanding of customer issues which may affect their debt collection.

Main Accountabilities:

- Chasing overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales for allocated ledger
- Ensuring that all debts chased are appropriately documented and recorded on the customer account
- Maintaining accurate records of all chasing activity
- Maintaining and updating accurate customer information
- Timely resolution of queries both internal and external
- Building and developing key relationships with customers and colleagues
- Providing ad-hoc reporting as and when requested
- Posting payments to accounts and allocating as required
- Undertaking account reconciliations as required
- Ensuring monthly processing deadlines are met as required
- Sending out monthly client statements
- Other duties as delegated from time to time by the Credit Manager or any other person designated in their absence
- Providing weekly debtor updates to the Credit Control Manager
- Undertaking other duties which may arise or as may be delegated from time to time
- Providing cover for colleagues when absent
- To undertake training as deemed appropriate
- To comply with all Companies Information Security Policies and all other Company Policies applicable to the role.

Principal Skills & Attributes Required:

- 1+ years previous credit control experience, preferably in a medium to large organisation
- Ability to work independently, using own initiative to problem solve
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues alike
- Self-motivation and drive
- Willingness to take on any task required, in order to ensure deadlines are met
