Key Responsibility Areas

* Ensure potential issues are identified and either resolved by you and the team or escalated without incident to the Coningsby ARC Manager.

* Provide integral day-to-day support, supervision and direction to the JAS Radar and DASS LRI Repair Service within the ARC to deliver Serviceable RADAR, DASS and

* Avionics LRI's to the customer to meet their demands.

* Support, Direct and Carry out Standard Serviceability Testing, Fault finding and LRI repair on RADAR and DASS LRI's using the approved technical data within a MAOS MAA Part 145 setting.

* Ensure the availability of Automatic Test equipment through routine maintenance and calibration.

* As the Bay Lead you will have Daily liaison with the ARC Management, Maintenance Planner, Logistics teams as required to understand priorities for repair activities.

* Provide support to the management of the Spares Pool and oversee the consumables, to prevent shortages. Highlighting any deficiencies to ARC Management and Logistics team.

* Meet all the contractual and local requirements associated with Governance, SHE, Training and general good engineering practices. Supporting QA and the Management with updates to documentation where required.

* Working with the Maintenance Planner to control minor test equipment items ensuring calibration, routine maintenance and Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) are all in date and available to the maintenance team. Day to Day management and control of all toolkits within the ARC ensuring tool availability to the maintenance team at all times.

* Support the ARC Manager to work flexibly with regards to working pattern to ensure ARC Manpower and resources are maintained to continually deliver the service through periods of leave, absence etc

* Support the ARC Manager by highlighting any skill or knowledge gaps that may impact service delivery. Ensuring the team members are trained and authorisations are up to date

* Identify areas and opportunities for improvement within the ARC.

* Be available for cross training on Avionics Products.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required


* HND qualifications in avionics engineering or maintenance, or equivalent experience & knowledge

* Experience in managing or delivering Avionics / Electrical Bay Maintenance activity

* An understanding of the Supportability Engineering discipline.

* Familiarity with equipment Maintenance facility operations

* Strong ability to multi-task & make priority judgements with the support of the ARC Management.

* An excellent & confident communicator, able to engage with multiple stakeholders at varying levels.

* Good numeracy & literacy skills with experience & working knowledge of Microsoft suite of product including Excel

* Demonstrated knowledge of complex avionics systems/equipment

* Commercial and business awareness.

* Adaptable and innovative – open to new ideas & skilled to lead change initiatives.

* Enthusiastic & self-motivated with a strong ability to foster & develop effective working relationships with both external & internal stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.


* Experience of working/managing in a MAOS Pt 145 or equivalent governance environment (i.e. EASA Pt 66)

* Familiarity with asset management systems would be beneficial

* Experience of multi-company collaborations or partnered working environments.
