Job DescriptionRole: Pension Support Clerk Hourly Wage: £9.12 - £9.50 Location: Northampton Role: (Office support) - Ensuring all documents are scanned and indexed in accordance with policies and procedures of the County Council and relavant legislation. - Deliver an efficient and customer focused service by processing and responding to incoming communication via the intranet and internet. - Assist in maintaining supplies to facilitate the smooth running of the office. - Undertake general admin and and clerical tasks - To support pension staff on various daily, weekly, periodic and ad-hoc projects. (Management support) - To support the Governance Manager and their team in the administration of the Pension Fund Board and Investment Sub Committee of both pension funds. - To provide administration support to the Governnance Manager and his team in procurement initiatives. - To undertake arrangements for officers and members of the Pension Service and Investments to attend confrences and seminars. - To maintain training record of both members and officers (Role specific) - Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as required to assist with the delivery of council services . - To maintain up to date knowledge of Local Government pension and other relavent impacting legislation - To perform online input for new starters, leavers, opt outs/ins, refunds and changes in circumstances - undertake incoming transfer assesments and assesing outgoing transfer assesments and assessing outgoing transfers relating to other local authorities. - Ensure accurate records are held regarding members to enable accurate calculations to be made. Knowlegde and Experience: (Essential) - Fully competent in Microsoft Office applications - Understanding of the requirements for confidentiality - Ability to maintain high levels of performance under changing conditions, tasks, responsibilities or people using appropriate workflow systems (Desirable) - Knowledge of Local Goverment Pension Scheme and associated legislation Skills and Attributes: - Numerate and literate - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Attention to detail - Flexible and adaptable - Ability to meet deadlines - Confident in analysing pension issues and in offering sound, reliable and professional advice
