My client who have a presence throughout the UK, has an exciting new vacancy for an enthusiastic Buying Assistant to join their busy Buying team based in Plymouth.

This role would suit someone who is able to demonstrate a keen interest in retail and who has confident and strong administration skills. This is a great career opportunity in this rapidly growing company.

Responsibilities include:

* Supporting the Senior Buying team to drive sales, maximise profit and achieve stock and sales targets

* Assist in sourcing, listing, managing and developing product ranges and promotional offers

* Liaison with suppliers

* Monitoring activity from competitors

* Research, compile and interpret data to formulate strategies

* Accurately complete all relevant administrative, financial and system procedures within timescales

* Provide support for stores by producing regular information

* Attend supplier meetings, showrooms and trade shows upon progression

Ideal Candidate:

* A degree is preferred but not essential

* Ability to demonstrate knowledge of and an interest in retail

* Excellent commercial understanding and communication skills

* Be committed and confident with strong administrative, organisational and prioritisation skills

* Comfortable working alone and within a team

* Possess proficient written, numerical/analytical and PC skills, particularly Excel

* A sound understanding of online processes

This role is being offered on a full time permanent basis, Monday to Friday, with the first 12 weeks working via RJS Resourcing and then becoming permanent after that. The initial salary is dependent upon experience and this is a wonderful chance to work with growing and hugely successful company long term
