An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Buyer to join a hugely successful company based in the South West. You will be working alongside the Buyer to develop the range of products for customers. You will be building relationships with internal and external departments, developing contacts with existing and new suppliers, which will maximise business opportunities and margins for the company long term. This role offers great career development and the chance of foreign travel as and when required.
Duties will include:
* Working within the buying department sourcing products
* Negotiating with suppliers terms and conditions
* Liaising with suppliers on a daily basis when required
* Meeting and exceeding project and margin targets in place
* Building excellent working relationships with internal and external departments
* Attending buyer meetings
* Analysing trends and stock to ensure the range of products is relevant and making changes where necessary
* Working with other departments within the organisation to meet key business goals and strategies in place
Ideal Candidate:
* Graduate or equivalent experience
* Experience working in buying capacity / role
* Excellent business acumen
* Confident using analytical and numeracy skills
* Solid computer skills
* Excellent relationship building abilities and able to display inter-personal and communication skills
* Able to work under pressure in fast paced environment
* An interest to develop skills and career within this sector
Salary depending on experience with other great perks including flexible working hours and ongoing support and training to further your career.
