Service Manager – Up to £40k + Company Vehicle

This Workshop based Service Manager role requires the successful candidate to be technically minded and have experience maintaining excavators, dumpers, mini diggers and a range of plant to support your team of engineers.

You will be working for a proactive business who supply plant machinery, power generation equipment, temporary power solutions and site accommodation to some of the biggest construction sites, events and civil engineering projects in the UK.

Duties of the Service Manager will include:

Setting an example to a team of fitters working on a range of plant from JCB, Terex, Komatsu, Bomag amongst others.
Ensuring time sensitive deadlines are met.
Take ownership of all workshop, yard and transport related activity
Offering customer support and liaising with suppliers
Work closely with all engineer and the hire desk
Able to fix, replace and diagnose faults to a high standard, providing technical support
Providing suggestions of how processes can be changed and made more effective

To be successful within the role of Service Manager, you will have previously worked in positions such as a Foreman, General Foreman, Workshop Manager, Service Supervisor, Senior Engineer, Charge Hand or Leading Hand working within plant hire or on heavy plant.


Experience managing equipment availability, stock/parts, budget control, warranty, damages, transport and service compliance.
Holding a CPC is desirable

You may be qualified to NVQ or City and Guilds standard or time served with good knowledge of health & safety, CANBUS etc deciding when to fix or when to replace within the fleet.
