We have an exciting opportunity and require an outstanding Electrical Engineering Manager for our Grimsby Office. This is a permanent full time role working 40 hours per week (Mon - Fri 8 am - 5 pm). On offer is a competitive salary.

Responsibilities

Management of the Electrical engineering department, monitoring performance, and allocating resources

Conduct performance appraisals with Electrical engineers on an annual basis and ensure continuous professional development within the team.

Development and training of departmental members. To ensure continuous professional development

Maximise productivity by clear direction and resource planning of the Electrical engineering team

Ensure all Electrical project deliverables are produced to the required standard and within project timelines.

Checking and approval of others’ engineering design documentation

Ensuring the correct production, change management and quality control of detailed Electrical designs and details.

Selection of equipment and liaison with suppliers/sub-contractors.

Reviewing/developing existing design techniques/procedures and investigation of new processes.

Direct decision making autonomy relating to engineering design work and allocation of resources available from within the engineering team and or third party companies as appropriate.

Full compliance with all applicable corporate and engineering procedures.

Manage and maximise utilisation of engineers and designers

Manage time to ensure adequate delivery of deliverables set by project manager/line manager.

Prioritise workloads effectively and efficiently.

Contributing to the achievement of KPI’s associated across all projects.

Skills/Qualifications

Relevant professional/vocational qualification i.e. university degree or equivalent in electrical engineering

Significant Electrical engineering and design experience within a process plant or power environment.

Preferably chartered engineer status and member of the Institute of electrical engineers (IEE)

Experience working through all design stages on EPC projects

Good knowledge of the bid process for electrical packages

Construction experience to allow the production of CAPEX estimates

Good working knowledge on the ATEX directive and hazardous areas

Medium voltage design experience

Experience with safe electrical systems

Experience working on electrical packages such as switchboards, UPS, trace heating and variable speed drives

Protection studies experience (Fault Level, Protection coordination & lightning protection)

Lighting and small power design

Excellent Oral and written communication skills

Lead and manage a team of engineers.

Ability to manage costs, resources and time schedules.

Working under pressure and to tight deadlines

Working to Company and service based objectives
