We are excited to be working with an internationally renowned British fashion brand that requires a Head of Finance, to manage and develop their financial accounting, reporting, credit control and processing functions. The business incorporates a mixture of wholesale and direct retail sales, including e-commerce. The growth and complexity of the business (4 companies) requires a qualified and experienced finance professional to continue the development of the finance function. The role is currently responsible for a team of 12.

We are looking for a qualified finance professional with demonstrable experience of managing a finance team. You will be a hands-on proactive individual, with experience of working in a fast-paced finance environment within a changing business. You'll have strong technical and interpersonal skills to quickly integrate within this successful organisation, developing and improving financial processes.

Your Responsibilities will include:-

• Financial Reporting – responsible for timely and accurate preparation of all financial reporting (annual consolidation), including monthly management accounts (to include Board commentary) and the statutory audit

process

• Financial Control – enforcing, developing and implementing financial policies to control the business. Performing cost reviews, devising and implementing change to control cost within the business

• Planning – responsible for the preparation and management of the annual budgeting process for the Group, and continuing the development of the re-forecasting and long term planning processes

• Financial management – providing financial and management information to non-financial managers of the business, developing close working relationships with all areas of the business, particularly with the retail,

e-commerce & marketing teams

• Treasury management – management of the company's cash position to maximise returns and minimise transaction costs. Management of the retail reconciliation process for a growing number of stores

• Taxation compliance – managing the process and preparation of Corporation Tax, VAT and Sales Tax returns (liaising with external accountants & tax advisors) for the UK, Holland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Canada

and USA

• Commercial support to Marketing – monthly analysis, review and reconciliation of actual costs against budget & monthly accruals, involving continual liaison with the marketing team

• Ad-hoc projects – supporting commercial projects related to the continuing growth and development of the business

• Systems development – review, devise and implement changes to the accounting systems (in conjunction with the IT function and software suppliers) to ensure that processes are continually improved to keep pace with

the business

• Team management – management, training and development of an established, but growing, team

• Continual improvement of processes, reviewing all tasks performed by the team and updating processes where required

What we want from you:

• Qualified Accountant with 7 years + post qualification experience

• Experience of managing a varied team in a finance function in industry, including both qualified and non-qualified staff

• Broad-based experience of all aspects of financial management in a small/medium-sized company

• Strong technical and accounting knowledge and demonstrable experience of financial control, through balance sheet reconciliations, P&L review and maintenance of financial processes

• Experience of working in a multi-currency environment with exposure to international issues such as tax compliance & international payment methods (LC/DC)

• Experience of financial reporting to deadlines.

• Strong IT skills and knowledge of the operation of accounting systems
