Are you looking to gain experience in a classroom as a Learning Support Assistant as a means to support your application to study a PGCE or similar route in to teaching?

A friendly, vibrant secondary school in South Essex are looking to add to their support staff team from September. They are looking to add a Teaching Assistant/Academic Mentor/Unqualified Teacher in Food Technology. This is a full-time position working five days a week during term time. The school are able to look at immediate starts as well as September start dates.

This position will be an introduction to the school and its workings. You will be based in the small but friendly Food Technology department where you will work closely with the department’s director. You will be responsible for supporting pupils in class, preparing practical lessons and aiding with the cooking.

The idea is that the following year the school will train and develop you in to a Teacher of Food Technology. The school are part of a leading academy trust with an unrivalled in-house teacher training programme. There programme leads to a PGCE with QTs and is the ideal way to kick start your teaching career.
