Assessor in Engineering
Gloucestershire College has received national recognition for its innovative apprenticeship programmes, winning the Association of Colleges (AoC) Beacon Award for the Promotion and Delivery of Successful Apprenticeships in 2016. Following this success we are recruiting for an Engineering Assessor to join our growing Business Hub.
The Engineering Assessor will assess learners’ performance and/or related knowledge in a range of tasks and to ensure that the competence and/or knowledge demonstrated meets the requirements of the apprenticeship frameworks or standards.
The role of Engineering Assessor will include:
* Support, train and guide learners and develop their personal and professional knowledge, skills and behaviours
* Guide and support learners as to the required evidence for their NVQ or skills as part of an apprenticeship standard and to make judgements about that evidence
* Liaise with other assessors, internal verifiers, your Apprenticeship Manager and the Head of School/Director
* Contribute to learner and employer reviews as required
* Work closely with employers and the sales team to secure new business for the college
Skills and Experience:
* Up to date knowledge of mechanical engineering, including relevant industry experience
* Experience in assessing, planning, controlling and implementing Apprenticeship programs
* An assessor qualification (A1 or CAVA)
* Minimum of Level 3 qualification in Engineering
* The ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines
