We are currently seeking an Assistant Psychologist to join us on a full time basis, working 8:30 – 17:00 Monday to Friday.

Cygnet Woking offers a range of secure mental health services for men and women. Cygnet Lodge Woking, our sister hospital close by, provides a mental health rehabilitation service for men and extends our care pathway.
Services are delivered in a purpose-built therapeutic environment where the focus is on maximising positive outcomes and recovery. A range of therapies supports the care pathway towards independent living. We aim to assist patients with their mental health and reinforce their daily living skills, helping to prepare for independent life.

The Opportunity

To support and enhance the professional psychological care of patients within this service who present with a variety of mental health conditions by providing psychological assessment, formulations, interventions and evaluation under the supervision of a Qualified Psychologist.
You will undertake psychological assessments of clients including psychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, and others involved in their care, under the supervision of a Qualified Psychologist.

To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work as relevant, to contribute to service development and best practice. You will also assist in the running of therapeutic groups, formulation and delivery of care plans.

Are you the successful candidate we are looking for?

• A good level (2:1 or above) BPS (British Psychological Society) Accredited Undergraduate Degree in Psychology (or equivalent)
• Some experience within the healthcare sector, ideally within mental health
• A Psychology Masters Qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
• Previous experience in a paid/voluntary Assistant Psychologist role is desirable
• A passion for learning and working as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Good communication skills
