Position: Trainer & NRSW Assessor

Reporting to: Training & Quality Manager

Role Objective: This is an exciting opportunity to join Citrus Training who are the market leader in safety training, with a group turnover of £10m. With a blue-chip client list, including Balfour Beatty, Kier, Barrett Homes and Anglia Water, courses are delivered nationwide at dedicated training centres and at customer sites. In the role of a Trainer & Assessor you will be delivering a front-line service to our clients, based on their training requirements. As this is a customer facing role, you will promote a positive image of Citrus Training, in both appearance and behaviour, at all times.

Key Responsibilities:


* Identify learners’ needs

* Provide learners with training at a level and pace to suit their needs

* Keep themselves up to date with current legislation

* Undertake all necessary preparation, administration and assessment associated with the training

* Provide appropriate learning support to enable effective learning

* Participate in the planning and improvement of course programmes


* Prepare NRSW candidates for assessment at NRSW centres or approved client centres

* Assess NRSW candidates at NRSW centres or approved client centres

* Provide NRSW candidates with feedback from assessment

* Assist NRSW candidates in portfolio preparation

* Provide NRSW candidates and others with underpinning knowledge

* Provide candidates with appropriate information, advice and guidance to facilitate their learning and offer routes of progression or information about additional qualifications when requested or if identified as being required

* Continually review NRSW candidates' progress and assist in action planning to promote their learning

* Provide appropriate learning support to enable effective assessment

* Participate in the planning and implementation of schemes of assessment

* Provide up to date information related to the role of NRSW Assessor to the Internal Verifier and Quality & Performance Manager

Information Advice & Guidance

The assessor will offer advice and support for all candidates, to assist them with choosing and achieving the most suitable training or qualification.

Should additional information be requested that the organisation is able to deliver; the appropriate contact within the organisation would be provided. If the request for information is not delivered by or contained within the organisation then referrals to partner organisations will be offered

Training & Personal Development

Participate in centre devised professional development activities

Devise personal professional development activities

Participate in appraisal schemes

Participate in self-assessment activities including observation of learning sessions if needed

The Person:


Will hold all relevant certificates of training in their specific area of training

Hold an A1 or D32/D33 certificate and have willingness to work towards V1 certificate


Have a wide knowledge and working experience of the industry relevant to the course(s) they train on and a minimum of 5 years occupational work experience pertinent to the qualifications that they are able to train in

A proven assessment track record and experience of holding a caseload of more than 40 + learners

Skills & Attributes:

Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK

Excellent people skills and customer focused

Self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative

Good communication skills

Hours: 8.30am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday (Standard office Hours)

The successful candidate will have a flexible approach to working hours as travel to training venues nationwide and overnight stays will be required to fulfil the role.

Salary: Subject to Experience

Holiday: 25 days per annum (3 or 4 to be saved for Christmas)
