Hays Senior Finance is excited to be working in partnership with Tristel based in Snailwell, Newmarket who are a manufacturer of infection control, contamination control and hygiene products.

Due to continued business growth and expansion across the Group, Tristel are recruiting for an Assistant Systems Accountant to join their team. This is a newly created role to support the day-to-day running of the company’s ERP system, SAP Business One, which will soon be operating in 11 locations around the world.

Reporting to the Systems Accountant, the role will sit within Finance and you will work directly with departments and subsidiaries across the Group.  This will involve supporting and training end-users, implementing and maintaining controls and authorisations, providing ad-hoc reporting/analysis, and assisting the Systems Accountant on delivering major developments and enhancements to the system with key responsibilities including:
  • Assist the Systems Accountant in implementing major system enhancements and new reporting/business intelligence
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis to stakeholders
  • Support the day-to-day running of SAP Business One and its associated add-ons/mobile applications
  • Maintain the controls and resilience of the system
  • Provide guidance and training to end-users
  • Document processes and develop a knowledge base
  • Liaise with end-users to understand and prioritise additional requirements

The successful candidate will be an ambitious finance professional with a sound understanding of business accounting and direct experience of working in or with a finance function.  A strong understanding of how an ERP system operates within a business, alongside working knowledge of SQL will be key. The ability to show a high degree of resourcefulness and intuition is required when it comes to problem solving and working independently.  Knowledge of SAP Business One, BI tools and Crystal Reporting will also be beneficial, but is not essential as training will be provided.


Although the role is based in Newmarket, due to the global nature of this role occasional travel overseas to their subsidiary offices maybe required. They are located in Germany, Belgium, Hong Kong, China, New Zealand and Australia.
