The BHF's Policy and Influencing team is looking for an experienced policy professional with an excellent knowledge of the English NHS, current health policy and a solid understanding of the health service's governance and decision-making structures. Your job will be to work with our public affairs and local health services engagement team and closely with NHS England, to drive the implementation of the heart and circulatory disease ambitions set out in the NHS long term plan. You'll also be responsible for developing and driving BHF policy/calls to action on best-practice prevention, detection and treatment of heart and circulatory diseases by the health and social care system. Whilst your role will focus mainly on the English system, you'll also have a key role in ensuring that the same broad policy priorities are being pursued across all UK nations. About you You'll have a thorough knowledge of the health and social care system in England, and good understand of equivalent systems in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, along with significant experience in policy development, influencing in the field of health, or direct experience of implementing policy in the NHS. Able to lead and contribute to multi-disciplinary teams, you'll have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage internal and external policy research projects. You'll also have proven analytical and problem solving skills for this position. Able to quickly learn about and communicate on medical research and heart health issues, you'll also be adept at using your interpersonal and influencing skills to develop good working relationships with senior managers and to build a network of contacts and develop strong relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders including Ministers, advisors and civil servants.
