Based in brand-new, state-of-the-art offices in Taunton, Somerset, the UKHO offers flexible working, access to the latest technology and extensive training and development opportunities.
Our Marketing Communications team is responsible for defining the organisation’s core marketing strategies and developing and implementing product positioning and ‘go to market’ plans. The team are high performers with a passion for marketing, and you would be involved in everything from creating, planning and implementing digitally-optimised content, using a range of platforms (including web, digital advertising, social media, film and email marketing) to reporting on analytics.
As well as developing content, you will help to develop new digital platforms, contribute to the development of annual corporate and marketing communications plans, maintain relationships with a variety of agencies, and more.
Shortlisting and Interview
The successful candidate will be assessed on the following experience, skills and ability from the civil service recruitment framework both at application and interview:
You will be short-listed and interviewed against the following criteria:
- A business or marketing related degree, or CIM qualification (minimum Level 4).
- Two years practical marketing experience.
- Can deliver results in a highly pressurised environment.
- Broad knowledge of designing and implementing digital marketing communications.
- Exceptional copywriting and proofreading skills.
- Able to develop a comprehensive knowledge of the marine market and the UKHO.
- Able to develop the excellent verbal and numerical reasoning skills required to successfully complete the role.
As an important aspect of this role involves regular spoken interaction with members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential to be successful for the post. You will be tested on this at interview.
