Information about the school
South Borough Primary School in Maidstone is currently a 1 form entry school in year 3, 4, 5 and 6. It became part of the Swale Academies Trust on 1st February 2015. In September 2015 the school began its journey to become a 2 form entry by taking 60 Reception children. Currently we have 3 reception classes, 2 Year 1 and 2 classes. Building work have been completed to accommodate the process of going up to a full two form entry school.
At South Borough Primary School we believe every child matters and is at the heart of all we do. We aim to ensure they can read, write and calculate effectively when they leave us. Together with that we aim to instill a sense of pride, tolerance, determination and perseverance to help them in all aspects of life. Good behaviour for learning is key for children to make good progress. We reward and practice this behaviour at school and our core values promote children to become supportive, honest children who are confident to take risks and persevere when the going gets tough.
The school has purchased new resources in Maths, including Mathletics and Bug Club for reading. We have purchased a new scheme of work for PE and Computing to link to the new curriculum.
We collaborate with other Trust schools, to ensure best practice is shared. We value our parents and have an active Friends of South Borough (FOSB) who regularly meet and organise events/functions/activities for our children.
We are proud to offer wrap around care from 7.45am to 6.00pm every day.
Our School and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
