We have an exciting opportunity for a teaching assistant to join our committed and hardworking team at Jane Austen College.

The role involves working in one-to-one situations and leading small groups as well as supporting the teacher in whole class lessons. You should be able to work effectively as part of a team, following the direction of the teachers as well as working under your own initiative when necessary.

You will be an inspirational practitioner who is passionate about raising achievement through motivating and inspiring students, who will also contribute to the vision and values of the school. You’ll have a minimum of GCSE grade C for English and maths or equivalent.

Experience of working with students with special educational needs would be of benefit, although training will be provided as necessary.

Jane Austen College is an 11-19 secondary school in the heart of Norwich which opened in 2014. We are an English specialist school, with an additional post-16 specialism in humanities and the arts. We are also partnered with the Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form – the region’s first maths and science specialist sixth form. Our sixth form is one of the top performing in Norfolk and we have been rated by Ofsted as Outstanding in four out of five areas, with an overall rating of Good.

As part of the Inspiration Trust, we offer high-quality, personalised professional development, in addition to excellent career development opportunities. At Jane Austen College, you will have the opportunity to develop your career in a supportive and stimulating environment.
