Introduction:
Our client has an immediate requirement for an Electrical Engineer to join their existing team in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. The company works very closely within the defence / MoD sector, so you will need to undergo a high level of security clearance. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the design of new products and improve existing ones for the military land domain.

Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:
- Involvement with projects from bid, through design, manufacture and delivery through into aftermarket support.
- Produce electrical installation designs while ensuring that the technical solution is fit for purpose and meet or exceed our customers’ requirements.
- Production of electrical engineering drawings using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Work effectively within the project team and other areas of the business.
- Generate test specifications, schedules and reports.
- Produce procurement specifications for major bought-out equipment.
- Support the CE marking of in-house manufactured electrical equipment.
- Work effectively with all disciplines to ensure effective integration of electrical systems and components within mechanical restraints to ensure a defined electrical build standard.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the electrical production team, electrical field service engineers and remote team.
- Support meetings and events with potential customers.
Electrical Engineer Applicant Requirements:
- The successful candidate must have a strong electrical engineering background and hold relevant qualifications i.e NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND or Degree level.
- Experience with 3 phase and single phase electrical systems is essential.
- There will be a level of training on the design / autocad side if needed for the right candidate.
- Sound understanding of product safety and regulatory requirements.
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft office software package, i.e Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
- Willing to undergo a high level of security clearance.
Electrical Engineer Benefits:
- £negotiable annual basic salary.
- Monday to Thursday 9am – 5pm and Friday 9am – 1pm.
- 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays (opportunity to buy 5 days or sell 3 each year).
