We are currently recruiting for a maintenance engineer for my client based in Measham.

As a maintenance engineer within FSi ltd, working as part of a small team you will be responsible for the continuous maintenance of equipment and machinery. You will use computerised systems to oversee routine maintenance and organise repairs.

You will be expected to work with other professionals and contractors in order to improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability, safety and profitability.

As part of a small team you would be responsible for

• carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults diagnosing breakdown problems

• fitting new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly

• arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components

• controlling maintenance stores and equipment

• monitoring and controlling maintenance costs

• dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs

• improving health and safety policies and procedures

• working with specialist equipment, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), which control machinery on factory assembly lines

• ensuring there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns within a factory unit operating between 5am and 10pm

Working hours

Working hours are usually 40 hours a week, normally working between 7am and 4pm. However, there will be a weekly need to be available for breakdown call outs between 5am and10pm on a rota basis.

What to expect

• Work is generally based within our factory based in Measham and will involve extended periods working on the factory floor.

• Working to tight deadlines and in response to breakdown emergencies is some-times required.


You will need to show:

• the capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures with a bias towards electrical fault finding.

• the ability to work as a small team

• team working skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels

• good diagnostic and problem-solving skills aligned to mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems

• the confidence to respond positively when under pressure

The Person we are looking for will;

• have a strong maintenance background working on PLC based machinery

• have a multi skilled maintenance approach with and understanding of both me-chanical and electrical maintenance

• live local enough to Measham as to facilitate call outs at short notice

Salary competitive circa £25-28k per annum plus benefits including 33 days holidays, pension and progression within a fast moving company.
