A highly commercial and expanding business based in Skelmersdale is currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join its growing team. Reporting into the Finance Manager you will be part of a busy accounts team and will be responsible for VAT, Fixed Assets and Inter-company procedures. Ensuring all processes are adhered to and any queries are resolved.

This business is specifically looking for someone who has a strong work ethic and wants to become a qualified accountant.

Experience in Inter-Company accounts, Fixed Asset and VAT is essential for this role.

As Assistant Accounts your main duties will be:

* Inter-company accounting; ownership of the inter-company activities and ensure accounts balance each month

* Processing of recharge invoices on relevant purchase ledger accounts

* Running of inter company payments

* Balance sheet reconciliations for all inter company general ledger accounts

* Journal postings

* Fixed Assets accounting;

* Administration of fixed assets and posting depreciation journals

* Reconciling related balance sheet ledger accounts

* Completion of UK VAT returns

* Post journals and complete agreed balance sheet reconciliations

* Balance sheet reconciliations for all relevant areas

* Agreed inter company processes followed

To Apply for the role you must:

* Be AAT Qualified and at least on Operational level of CIMA

* Have experience of VAT, Intercompany and Fixed Assets procedures

* Excellent spreadsheet skills including formulas and data manipulation

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels via different mediums

* Good technical, analytical and problem solving skills

* Self-motivated and proactive with a positive and can do attitude

* Committed to self-development

* Passionate about achievement of personal, team, department and organisational goals
