CDS Recruitment are working with our client who are looking to recruit an experienced Engineering Manager to provide a coordinated approach to the Engineering and Site Service functions, ensuring resources are appropriately utilised in supporting maximisation of business performance and quality outputs across their company Products Division. As a member of the plant's leadership team, you will also contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation and ensure that organisational objectives are converted into meaningful business plans. The successful candidate will be responsible for a team of circa 16 people and will report into the Managing Director. Duties & Responsibilities - knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies:-

" Improve machinery and facilities reliability through maintenance activities, modification and good engineering practises.

" Introduce / improve PPM schedule for all key equipment.

" Control maintenance spend within agreed budget while maintaining and improving equipment uptime.

" Good understanding and working experience of PLC controlled equipment

" Introduce Proactive maintenance activities i.e. oil monitoring, acoustic analysis.

" Manage all energy saving activities to meet local and group targets.

" Manage new equipment installation and commissioning projects.

" Control labour ensuring production departments are effectively supported.

" Assess department skill levels and implement effective training.

" Carry out fault finding using engineering drawings and machine manuals.

" Maintain spare parts stores stock levels & records.

" Maintain equipment to local authority standards

" The good housekeeping of all areas of the site external to each department

" The effective control of waste management

" Liaise with external suppliers contractors


" Substantial experience of leading a high performing engineering team

" Qualified to degree level or equivalent or above in a multi-skilled engineering discipline.

" Practical experience in the application of lean manufacturing concepts.

" A good understanding and working experience of PLC controlled equipment.

" A good working knowledge of MS Office.

" Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

" Good understanding of 14001 and 18001 standards
