Becoming a Project Manager with Capita Government Services in Birmingham:

Seeking two Project Managers to join our team in Fort Dunlop, Birmingham. You will be responsible for the end to end delivery and management of projects to meet the overall requirements of the client and the business in the most cost effective and reliable manner.

You will take ownership for the delivery of allocated Business Change and I.T projects. The nature of the business will require you to be capable of working on several projects of varying size concurrently.

Additionally, you will be required to work with other teams to plan, track and report on software releases planned for the Personal Independence Payment Scheme (PIP).

What you will do:

* Ownership and delivery of allocated Business Change and IT projects for the PIP business; delivering projects with robust governance and control

* Operating within an agreed PRINCE2 based methodology to ensure successful delivery to both internal and external customers; working with the PMO to move projects forward through stage gates

* Ability to define project objectives, scope, timelines, responsibilities and communication methods.

* Reporting on all aspects of project performance; managing RAG status’ and ensuring all projects are delivered on time, to cost and to defined quality

* Developing, updating and managing project plans using Microsoft Project. Ensuring appropriate allocation of resources, setting of timescales and agreeing levels of client engagement

Your experience will include:

* Successfully delivered projects from inception to completion using a waterfall approach

* Experience of at least project managing 2 technical projects

* Prince 2 Practitioner

* Experience with delivering presentations to peers, stakeholders and senior management teams

* Microsoft Project - project plan development/review, scope development/planning

* Excellent Microsoft PowerPoint skills

* Integration of different information management systems, and the use of reporting tools

* Competent user of IT tools (word, excel, MS Project, MS Visio etc)

* Strong customer facing skills.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills. Confident with communicating at all levels including SMT and Exec members

* Balance timeliness, cost effectiveness and quality in proposing solutions; to improve quality, customer service, efficiency, revenue and productivity and to provide information

* Strong problem solving and analytical abilities

* The ability to cooperate with and support others; able to lead and motivate teams working on projects

* Ideally has delivered projects within Government Services sector
