Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a Support Worker / Care Staff to work in a residential house based in Mold.

The role is working as a Support Worker with 3 ladies with autism and learning difficulties. The successful applicant would need to have previous Care Staff/Workers experience and an NVQ in Health and Social Care. Restraint training would be an advantage but not essential as full restraint training can be provided.

As a Care Staff/ Support Worker you would be involved in the day to day routines; assisting with cooking, dressing, activities, managing money, personal care, dealing with challenging behaviours and following a care plan. You will also need to be prepared to take a client out on activity days. If you have a full clean driving licence you may be asked to take the client out on activity days yourself using the pool cars, or you may be asked to go along with another driver. New staff will be supported in providing you with an induction and regular training. You will go through care plans and be allowed to shadow a member of staff until you know the ladies well enough. The house has a positive environment and a support team of hard working Care /Support workers.

Applicants must have a background in Care Work, Nursing or Support Work, experience challenging behaviours would be an advantage.

The hours are 12 hour shifts and vary, but are usually between 8:00am-8:00pm or 9:00am-9pm and you can work up until 37 hours per week to include weekends, you can work as many shifts as you desire as long as you have one rest day in between 2 shifts. Pays £9.80-£11 per hour depending on experience.
