Empowering Learning are currently seeking a confident, experienced and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to work across SEN schools in Bury. If you have worked in a mainstream setting and are looking to further your experience within a special needs school with the opportunity to enhance your skill-set with additional training and the possibility of a permanent contract this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

The Successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be supporting teaching and learning across the school, providing general support in the management of pupils, as directed by the class teacher for students age 11 - 19. You must be able to promote and maintain a culture of high expectations for self and others and have the enthusiasm and energy required to help students achieve their full potential.

Experience in the following areas would be an advantage but not essential:

Previous experience working in a classroom environment.

Experience working with children or adults with complex needs.

Team Teach qualified (training can be provided)

Your day-to-day duties could include:

* Supporting students on and off school transport

* Getting the classroom ready for lessons

* Supporting students with personal care

* Helping teachers plan lessons and prepare teaching materials

* Helping teachers manage classroom behaviour

* Supervising group and 1:1 activities

* Supporting children with their own individual learning and behaviour targets

* Support the teacher in providing an engaging learning environment that meets the individual needs of each student
