Fire and Security Alarm Engineer – covering Greater Manchester
Salary up to £30,000 plus bonuses with OTE up to £45,000

Offering installation and maintenance services, Jackson offers a wide range of solutions from basic fire extinguishers through to large commercial installations.
What will this role of Fire and Security Alarm Engineer entail?
Reporting to the Branch Director, as a Fire and Security Alarm Engineer you’ll provide support at customer sites throughout Manchester, with 95% of work within a 45-minute drive of Manchester City Centre. Working as part of a team of highly skilled Fire and Security Alarm Engineers, your tasks will include;
* Installing, servicing and commissioning small to medium sized fire and intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems
* Providing certification for installed and serviced systems to comply with relevant British standards
* Identifying potential opportunities where customers could benefit from using additional services
* Managing own diary to ensure allocated work is completed on time
* Responding to out of hours calls whilst covering on call duty
Training will be provided with regards to security systems as required, and to enhance knowledge of fire alarm systems.
What will I receive in return as a Fire and Security Alarm Engineer?
You’ll be joining an ambitious business in a highly autonomous role with the full support of the branch. You’ll receive a salary in the region of £25,000 to £30,000, level dependent on experience, plus bonuses that will enable you to achieve ‘on target earnings’ in the region of £40,000 to £45,000. Additional benefits include company van, laptop and mobile phone, plus an extra day’s annual leave for your birthday.
Recent investment at the head office included commissioning of a £30,000 bespoke training room enabling Engineers to refresh their fire and security alarm repair and maintenance skills. The facility boasts seven complete alarm systems including Siemens and Honeywell for new recruits to train on.
You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Flexibility will be required to cover on call duty.
What will I need to be considered for this Fire and Security Alarm Engineer vacancy?
* Experience of servicing and commissioning fire alarm systems
* Sound knowledge and understanding of addressable fire alarms, open and closed protocol systems and networked systems
* Client focused approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
* Ability to manage own work load with minimal supervision
* Full UK driving licence
