A popular school located in Winchester, are searching to hire a History Teacher starting in April 2019. The ideal teacher will be innovative, enthusiastic and passionate. The school is keen to secure a History Teacher to join a thriving department in April 2019. The role includes teaching History to all year groups Key Stage 3, Key stage 4 and experience with Key Stage 5 is preferable but not essential.

As a new member of staff you will be given the freedom to teach History the best way you see fit, however in the instance you should need guidance there is always lots of support offered. Humanities resources at the school are fantastic; the department is busy and has a blend of NQTs and experienced Humanities Teachers which makes for an interesting and unique environment to work in. The School will accommodate induction terms for newly qualified teacher. The senior leadership team and NQT Coordinator at the school commit to making you an excellent practitioner if you are yet to finish your NQT year.

The school do not have issues with their recruitment and do not find that they have a high staff turnover. However, as they have worked with Prospero teaching for a number of years, they have entrusted this vacancy with us to ensure they appoint the most suitable History teacher available for April 2019 to continue the amazing teaching delivered to Key Stage 3, Key stage 4 and 5. The role also offers the option of being permanent or on a contractual basis depending on the successful History teacher’s needs.

Behaviour at the school is extremely good, although, like most schools, there are a few students in a few of the year groups that have more challenging attitudes towards learning therefore you will be expected to demonstrate the correct strategies to ensure the behaviour stays at a manageable standard. The school does provide education for students of all abilities therefore creating differentiated and interesting attention grabbing lessons is a very important trait and will act as a useful method to ensure behaviour stays good. History is a popular subject at this school and exam results at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 are very good.
