Hotel Deputy Accountant Overview

The role of the Hotel Deputy Accountant is responsible for assisting the Hotel Accountant in the effective operations of the hotel's accounts department. You will be working closely with the management team to ensure the hotel operates profitably within budget by controlling stock, consumables and purchasing across all areas of the business. You should have the ability to analyse and explain financial variances from budget. Promote a culture of reducing waste and increasing energy efficiency. Carry out Treasury functions, including the correct completion of bank reconciliations, credit control and the safe guarding of funds.



Attributes/Experience



The successful candidate will be AAT Qualified and working towards being ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified. Previous experience working within the hotel sector, preferably at top end 4 /5* properties would be advantageous



You will need excellent verbal communication skills, be highly organised, self motivated and have the ability to work within deadlines to meet business and customer demands whilst maintaining attention to detail.



Proven experience of managing a team in the Line Managers absence is essential as is the ability to train, develop and motivate people to achieve the targets that will be set.
