SEO Shared Services-Finance/ Operational Delivery Team Leader (up to 2 roles) Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government Location- Based in Hemel Hempstead, with some travel required to other MHCLG offices, including London and Bristol. Salary- £38,112 plus Benefits Grade-Senior Executive Officer Contract type-Permanent Business area-Finance Type of role-Finance Operational Delivery Working pattern-Flexible working, Full-time, Job share, Part-time Hours 37 hours per week Overview of the area of work FSSD provides financial services to MHCLG, the Planning Inspectorate (PINS) and the Valuation Tribunal Service (VTS) and supports the department's core ERP SAP Finance HR and MI systems and underlying infrastructure. The Division consists of a number of cross-functional teams who deliver these services to our customer base of 2500 users from a system support and operational delivery perspective. We are looking to recruit 2 SEOs to join our Shared Services Operations team, to lead on: • a) managing the relationship with FSSD's customers, monitoring and reporting on the quality of services and overseeing the delivery of customer change requests and improvements. The postholder will also work with the team lead to drive process ownership of Finance processes and collaboration with Cabinet Office to drive continuous improvements and best practice, and • b) the provision of quality Shared Service operational/transactional delivery via teams managing Accounts Payable/Receivable, Cash Management, GL/Budgeting/Supplier and Customer Master Data, Centralised Invoice Processing, SAP (Finance) Helpdesk and training. The postholder will also work with the team lead to drive improvement and innovation through processes and delivery, and work closely with the team responsible for delivery of technical change. Successful candidates must previous experience in a Management/ Team leadership role from a Finance/Accountancy background, the ability to use initiative, work flexibly and collaboratively with colleagues and display good communication skills. Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate these core skills together by providing relevant evidence of the competencies listed below. All roles are seeking applicants with strong organisational skills, who have an innovative approach, a proven ability to prioritise across a range of tasks, and are keen to develop themselves in line with business requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Division's growing team, either supporting IT professionals maintaining and developing a multi-tiered SAP landscape, or as part of our Operations team providing quality services and maintaining core service delivery standards. Key skills/criteria Previous experience in a similar role or Management/ leadership experience from the Finance/Accountancy sector - IT proficient, you must evidence your ability in developing skill sets, and embracing the opportunities digital change presents; - Strong, confident communication skills; both written and verbal, able to adjust their messaging according to their audience; - A flexible approach to responsibilities and delivery; adaptable and collaborative; - Good interpersonal skills and relationship building; the ability to take responsibility and ownership of work; and - A multi-skilled individual with the aptitude and willingness to learn and further develop their skills.
