Are you a multi-skilled and adaptable Draughtsperson / Engineering Technician who can turn their hand to support a wide variety of tasks for the design team?
Providing technical and engineering support for this progressive, innovative and multi-functional engineering team you’ll be involved with a wide range of mechanical, electrical and electronic product designs, running tests, prototype assembly and development of an expanding range of high-tech, high precision mechatronic products?
What you will be doing as the Draughtsperson / Engineering Technician
• CAD Draughting and detailing: take 3D Mechanical concepts and create 2D production drawings and BOM’s, using Autodesk Inventor
• Update mechanical and wiring diagrams from ECR’s to generate ECN’s and amended BOM’s
• Manuals and Reports: produce test reports and prepare manuals for customer and manufacturing use, to helping the design team keep accurate records
• Test & Repair: test/debug, repair and change components on electronic boards, oversee routine product testing and monitor results, resolve mechanical assembly issues
• Production: after specific product training you’ll assist the team to develop, prototype, modify, test and improve the products and processes, working closely with the Design Engineers and production team
Skills and experiences needed of the Draughtsperson / Engineering Technician:
• Qualifications: Apprentice trained, maybe a graduate, with broad, hands-on experience gained in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering, ideally with an understanding of Mechatronics
• Skills: with multi-disciplinary core skills in engineering you should be able to use CAD in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD or similar, solder and assemble products. An eye for detail is essential as are communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility: demonstrate practical hands-on skills, able to turn your abilities to a variety of tasks supporting and liaising between design, production and engineering
• IT: You’ll be IT literate able to use Microsoft Word & Excel, able to write reports and user manuals, a team player and demonstrate a real enthusiasm and ambition to make a difference.

Salary and benefits: £28 - 30,000 + bonus, pension, 25 days holiday
