Permanent Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist - Brain Injury in Sheffield

Hours: Part time - 22.5 hours per week
Start date: ASAP
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Band: 8b equivalent
Competitive salary dependent on experience

We are looking to recruit a HCPC registered Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist for our high reputational client - one of the UK's largest mental health care providers - to work within their Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre, which is set in surrounding countryside along the borders of the Peak District National Park. The centre is a specialist facility providing both long-term and short-term rehabilitation, care for male and female adults (aged 18+ years) with a brain injury or other complex neurological conditions.

The main duties will include:
- Providing a high quality specialist clinical neuropsychology service, within the multidisciplinary neuro rehabilitation team
- Designing and implementing individual behaviour modification and neuro-rehabilitation programmes
- Contributing to the supervision of psychological therapy provided by other psychologists, including trainee, and assistant psychologists
- Working autonomously within professional guidelines and exercising responsibility for psychological practise within a current caseload
- Supporting and educating families and external carers in brain injury and ongoing care
- Utilising research skills for audit, policy, service development and clinical research
Implementing policy changes within the neuropsychology service and the wider organisation

Our client is looking for a dynamic professional who can offer a wealth of expertise in the area of neuropsychology, along with proven experience working as a psychologist in brain injury rehabilitation or within another clinical area.

You must possess a post-graduate doctorate level degree in Clinical Psychology, be a chartered Clinical Psychologist (or meet the criteria for chartership) and have eligibility for membership of the BPS Division of neuropsychology.

The ability to provide and/or identify appropriate support to carers and staff managing service users is an essential skill, along with the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, highly technical and clinically sensitive information to patients, families and other professional colleagues.
