An exciting opportunity to join an international Blue-Chip company as an in-house Commercial lawyer has arisen.

The role requires individuals who have a dynamic approach to solution management and negotiation and an attention to detail to ensure compliance with company policy.

You will be asked to operate across all areas of the business on a national basis and will be expected to travel as required, though this is not anticipated to be more than one day per week from the designated office.

You will be involved in new business opportunities; protecting and extending existing contracts and providing commercial and contractual support on existing business.

The aim is to deliver a professional service, both externally and internally, with clear and transparent advice and documentation.

As a summary the function of the individual and the team will encompass:

* Legal and commercial management and processes

* Legal and commercial review of contracts

* New Bid due diligence including contractual and service level agreements

* Risk and opportunity analysis

* Contractual administration including letters of intent; supplier agreements; confidentiality agreements; contract extensions; etc.

* Commercial and contractual education and awareness

* Negotiations with third parties

* Identifying value enhancement and implementation

* Customer facing and working in tandem with Sales and Operations

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a minimum competence against the following criteria:

* Commercial Awareness – the ability to think laterally and understand the cost and value drivers within a competitive business environment

* Contract knowledge – an understanding of the formation of commercial contracts and the drafting and application of contracts to company standards.

* Communication – the individual should have excellent written and oral skills to concisely and clearly provide documented information both internally and externally

* Negotiation – experience of face to face meetings with external and internal clients within a business environment

* IT - proficiency with the Microsoft suite of applications, especially Word and Excel

Furthermore, the ideal candidate should possess the following personal skills:

* Analytical

* Time management

* Structured prioritisation of tasks

* Patient but focused on the goals

* Well presented and professional
