B1.3 Licensed Field Engineer

£41,000 - £47,000 (Including shift allowances)

We have an exciting opportunity for a B1.3 Licensed Engineer to join a growing aviation engineering organisation in the UK. This role is responsible for the completion and certification of airframe/engine & electrical systems, ensuring that work is accomplished in accordance with approved data and company policies and procedures. The client is well respected in the world of aviation due to the high quality of rotary services they provide for their customers.

As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for the delivery of serviceable aircraft and engineering facilities, capable of fulfilling the operational requirement of the customer. The role will be based in South Yorkshire and will involve a 4-day shift rotation which will require 24/7 availability whilst on shift.


* Plan and, or complete, directly or indirectly all Field Maintenance associated with his/her base/bases.

* Accomplish and/or supervise maintenance tasks in accordance with approved data and company policy.

* Request Repair Schemes where damages are identified beyond that defined within the approved maintenance data.

* Provision all scheduled components/spares via the Logistics Department.

* Return all unserviceable materials to the Logistics Department or as directed by the Logistics Department.

* Provision all tooling/equipment and or maintenance data required for the completion of Field Maintenance.

* Ensuring components fitted and removed are recorded, issued using the company computer system. Where necessary removed components are labeled correctly and stored in the appropriate manner.

* Manage all POL holdings associated with the base including approved storage, shelf life’s and stock levels.

* Manage of all company assets listed his/her base/bases, including servicing and calibration.

* Maintain the facilities in order to continue levels of base approvals.

* Manage all Technical Publications assigned to the base, their revisions and husbandry.

* Compiling Safety Reports (SOR’s), unsatisfactory feature reports (UFR’s) as required.

* Aircraft ground handling as required.

* Maintain a good relationship with the customers.

* Ensures the escalation of any issue to Management outside of the scope of responsibility or influence.

* Ensures compliance with H&S requirements, including the wearing and maintaining of appropriate PPE.

* Keeping a diary of work carried out and completion of the weekly base report.


* A strong maintenance related technical knowledge of rotary aircraft airframe/engine systems.

* A good working knowledge of the regulations and requirements associated with aircraft maintenance, Health & Safety and Human Factors.

* Good supervisory abilities.

* Good verbal and written communication skills.

* Have a strong safety ethos with high standards.

* Have a structured approach to organizing maintenance tasks.

* Have a thorough understanding of how to read and interpret all approved maintenance data and other technical documents.

* Able to work alone and make and justify their decisions.

* Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and peers.

* Must have good IT skills.

* Demonstrated ability to work alone and well within a team.


* Basic Academic Qualifications with apprenticeship or armed forces training.

* Licence(s) appropriate to helicopter types operated.

* Specialist Training as required by the company.
