The client is looking for a Senior Engineer to join the Development Infrastructure team based in Cambridge.The Infrastructure team specialises in providing sustainable development infrastructure solutions from planning, through to full implementation.

The Development Infrastructure team specialises in providing high level advice to manly private sector on planning and design issues relating to Highways, Public Realm, Sewerage, SUDS, Building Drainage, Earthworks, Flood protection and Services Co-ordination and Utilities Diversion on Residential, Retail, Industrial and Commercial Developments both in UK and overseas.

The team work closely with other disciplines on high profile major multi-disciplinary projects, contributing to the success of the team.

Responsibilities would include:

- Being active on a number of project / client accounts at ta given time

- Being supported by a team of experienced technical staff of various grades, to whom you will be expected to provide guidance and support as appropriate

- Client and design team liaison and some sub project management duties

- Being responsible or actively engaged for ensuring your projects are delivered to budget, programme ad technical standards and meet QA, CDM and HSE requirements

Skills / Qualifications:

- Post graduate experience and either have been awarded or nearing Chartered or incorporated status (CEng, IEng, MICE, MCIHT) or equivalent commercial experience and responsibility

- Demonstrable knowledge of, and experience in highway design, drainage strategy and design, flood risk assessment and management, utility design as well as a wide knowledge of the Development Industry

- General appreciation of hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnics and building structures is desirable

- Ability to produce masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations and construction drawings

- Good knowledge of the relevant design codes such as Sewers for Adoption, DMRB, Manual for Streets and Local Authority Design Guides, be well versed in the preparation of drawings for Contract Documents and technical approvals

- Good written and spoken communication skills and experience of liaison with clients, co-professionals and design teasm, and be competent in liaising with highway, water, statutory and local authorities to negotiate the necessary outline and detailed technical approvals

- Knowledge of current and emerging technical and planning guidance on climate change and sustainability

- Ability to use or direct and check use of relevant software including WINDES and Civils 3D/ PDS
