A full time Teaching Assistant opportunity has become available in a primary school in Manchester (M40). The school are looking to recruit an enthusiastic teaching assistant with experience supporting pupils with significant barriers to learning and who display challenging behaviour. The suitable candidate will be supporting groups of identified children with SEMH/EBD in KS1 and KS2.

The Role;

• Working with groups of identified children with challenging behaviours.

• Work on a 1:1 and a group basis.

• Can be violent outbursts and some of the children will be aggressive to members of staff.

• Be able to set clear boundaries but build positive relationships with pupils

• Team teach qualification is highly desirable

The School is based in Manchester and services the surrounding areas. As such the school has a large intake of international new arrivals as well as having its own behaviour unit. As an inclusive school the school places great pride in supporting all children from a wide variety of backgrounds. The ideal teaching assistant will be a graduate of psychology with experience of supporting primary aged pupils or experienced EBD Teaching Assistant.
