Salary: Circa GBP 28,000 per annum

We have an immediate need for a Desktop Support Analyst to provide operational and technical support to users of information systems with a primary focus on installing, configuring and maintaining PC's, thin-client devices, printers, telephony, network hardware and peripheral equipment.

What you will be doing
Reporting to our Desktop Service Delivery Team Leader, you will provide support for a wide range of applications and hardware technologies for staff across your designated area.

Performing incident management tasks adhering to the incident management process with the aim of restoring normal operational service with minimal business impact, you will to the Change Management process for the correct delivery of changes for the organisation and action Service Requests to ensure that they are delivered in a timely and effective manner.

*Please note that whilst the base location is flexible you will be covering the service area of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire; occasional needs to travel within the UK may be required.

About the team
The role of Desktop Support Analyst sits within the Information and Digital Technologies directorate.

Our success in making a difference to the communities in which we operate is dependent on the ability to deliver effective IS/IT services; the Information and Digital Technology Team supports staff and volunteer users in locations across the UK, our London based UK Office and our operations overseas.

The I&DT function enables operational teams to meet their objectives through the effective delivery of IS/IT Services, as well as driving corporate I&DT strategy and initiatives.

What we are looking for
With ITIL V3 Foundation and a good understanding of thin-client technologies and other techniques used to manage desktops and laptops with minimal desk side support, you should have:
  • Experience of working in a change environment in a complex multi-vendor IT environment.
  • A good knowledge of network, PC's, mobile devices and platform operating systems including Microsoft Windows OS.
  • A good technical knowledge of Citrix technologies including Xen Desktop and XenApp
  • A good understanding of VDI technologies
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Active directory.
  • Support desktop, laptop and thin clients, mobile devices, applications including the MS Office suite, Office 365, BRC applications, printing and delivery solutions
