Project Finance and Administration Officer: EU Atlantic Areas - Floods
Contract type: FTC until March 2022
Hours per £18,805 pro rata (£ 10.33 per hour)
The incidence and impact of flooding has been increasing across the world for the past 100 years and the trend is set to continue. Flooding is the most common natural disaster facing European populations, affecting 50 of 53 countries in the WHO European Region. Without action, up to half million additional people will be affected by flooding every year by 2080 (WHO 2013).

Fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator to join our Independent Living and Crisis Response team in Belfast on a part-time basis. Being a part of a small EU Atlantic Areas - Floods project team you will be responsible for ensuring that the project's financial processes satisfy audit and reporting requirements as specified by Red Cross policy and procedure and the conditions stipulated by the EU.
You will also provide an efficient and reliable administrative service to staff and partners involved in the project and undertake a range of administrative duties including monitoring and maintaining effective filing systems of all project expenditure, invoices, tenders and petty cash systems.
In addition, you ensure that the financial reporting arrangements provide a clear and transparent audit trail and effective account for all expenditure for the lead partner and EU.

The Independent Living (IL) & Crisis Response (CR) service (IL/CR) supports people in the space between hospital and home and responds to the needs of people in crisis following an emergency; maintaining an extensive network of external relationships across health, social care, and emergency services.
To be successful in this position you must have the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Higher education or equivalent by experience
- Experience in a support or administrative role
- Experience of spreadsheets and word processing software
- Experience of presentation and email packages
- Knowledge of implementing and monitoring administrative procedures
- Highly competent in developing and maintaining effective financial management systems
- Ability to understand complex financial monitoring requirements and present project information in a concise manner
