This post offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the establishment and mobilisation of a new perinatal mental health service in Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield. This post will work into the Rotherham and Doncaster hubs of the service. The service will integrate specialist community expertise with local services, make effective use of technology and peer support and promote wellbeing and access across local communities linking in with women's and children's services and key third sector providers. The service is delivered in partnership by Sheffield Health and Social Care NHSFT, RDaSH and Light, a local peer support charity.
You will provide support and advice to the multidisciplinary team and assess the occupational needs of service users, working collaboratively to address daily living needs and supporting them to meet identified recovery goals.
  • You should have demonstrable post registration experience of working in inpatient and/or community mental health services including working with women with mental health needs.
  • You will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team supervising junior staff and working in partnership with a range of external agencies.
You should be a team player, confident and effective communicator with service users, carers and staff of all professional groups as well as with external partner agencies.
The Allied Health Professionals and occupational therapy network within theorganisation is well established and supportive, providing opportunities forcollaboration and support related to development of occupational therapy practice and services.
The Trust has a well developed appraisal and supervision structure in place and actively encourages continuing professional development.
We have strong links with local universities and provide regular practice placements for occupational therapy students.
