Lexcel accredited firm in Bedford seeks an Assistant Legal Cashier on a permanent, full-time basis.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented legal cashier to join our clients thriving practice located in Bedford. The successful applicant will report to the practice manager, whilst providing efficient cashier/bookkeeping assistance to the chief cashier.

• Bank reconciliations
• VAT administration
• Telegraphic transfers
• Dealing with petty cash
• Handling cheques
• Processing accounting transactions
• Financial management reporting
• Preparing annual accounts
• Preparing month end reports
• Returns to HMRC
• Managing the firm’s payroll system
• General administrative duties
• Liaising with clients and other professionals

The Candidate
• Applications are encouraged from legal cashiers with a minimum of one year’s experience
• Possess an accountancy qualification or any relevant knowledge and experience
• Ideally have law firm accounts experience although this is not essential
• IT proficiency is essential
• Be a strong team player with the ability to work individually under your own initiative
