A large secondary school in Newham is recruiting a Pastoral Assistant to start ASAP. This position is part time, 20 hours per week. Working hours would be 10am – 2pm Monday to Friday.

Working in this large multi-site school you will be required to work with the Heads of House, providing administrative support. Some of the responsibilities of the role will include investigating incidents, recording the outcome and communicating with parents/carers regarding the breach of the schools behaviour policies.

You will also be required to assist and support break duties to make sure the playground is a safe environment. You must be organised and experienced with diary management as you will arrange meetings between staff and parents, which you will also attend to take minutes.

Ideally you will have experience with STARS (Studies Tracking & Achievement Reporting System) to record incidents. A first aid qualification is desirable.

Successful applicants have been calm and confident, with excellent communication skills.

The school is accessible from a mainline station.

Key skills and experience needed:

* Previous administrative experience within a school or educational setting

* Experience supporting students with behavioural difficulties

* Organised and personable

* STARS experience

* Professional manner
