Purchasing Assistant

We are looking to recruit an experienced Purchasing Ledger Clerk in the Hull area to assist the company’s procurement department. This is a temporary role working full time hours, with excellent working conditions.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 09:00am to 5:00pm with half an hour unpaid lunch. Starting pay is £9.50 per hour. This is a temporary assignment for approximately 2 months. It is possible that the assignment could run longer.

The primary role will be general purchase ledger work (both manual and computerized), and is a necessity that you have experience using SAGE.

You will be the point of contact for suppliers, and to ensure that all products meet with contractual terms and the needs of the production schedule, to prevent delays and enable the Company to meet customer requirements and deadlines.

Main Duties:

Responsible for ordering goods and ensuring they are delivered on time in order to complete customer orders.
Speaking to customers/suppliers on the telephone in a professional and courteous manner.
Progressing and chasing outstanding orders with suppliers.
Building relationships with suppliers.
Negotiating contracts and prices with suppliers, always getting the best value for money.
Resolve and sign off invoice queries and deal with purchase order numbers.
General administrative duties such as updating the company system with regard to supplier and product information.
Manage stock control monthly and annually, chasing up any discrepancies.
Liaising with various department across the business to ensure smooth running of production and deliveries.
