Finance Officer I am currently recruiting for a Finance Officer to start immediately. This role will start of as a Temporary role working either part time or full time. There is then scope for the role to go permanent working part time (term time in line with school opening dates). This role will be between £18,000 - £19,000 per annum on a permanent salary (pro rata). Who will you be working Our client is a flourishing girls' state school, graded as one of the top 5% of schools in the country in terms of student progress in October 2016. They provide all students with the excellent standard of education that they deserve. What will you be doing The Finance Officer will work closely with the School Business Manager to ensure that the school's financial controls and procedures are compliant at all times. Below is a list of some of the duties are the role but this list is not exhaustive nor inclusive, and will vary depending on the needs of the organisation. To oversee all internal and external financial transactions including the processing of all invoices and orders; producing the VAT return; reconciling financial statements highlighting any discrepancies, preparing the supplier invoices cheque run for payment and supervising Petty Cash payments. To assist with the collection and invoicing of income. To have an overview of budgets and to bring potential issues to the attention of the School Business Manager. To assist the School Business Manager to produce timely and accurate budget reports for the Headteacher and School Governors. To provide regular budget reports for Heads of Faculties including charging out photocopy/printer costs. To be responsible for the preparation and prompt banking of income and for ensuring systems for dealing with arrears are adhered to. About you Previous experience working within an educational establishment is desirable. Experience processing invoices and VAT returns. Experience overseeing budgets and filing reports. Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
