Research Scholar - Algorithms
Employment Type: Contract or Permanent Reference: CSG-RSA-LC Key Responsibilities: The Research Scholar – Algorithms will be responsible to perform research and come up with suitable algorithms for immersive VR engagements related to automotive design and engineering and to come up with Proof of Concepts (PoC) programs. You'll build cutting-edge research prototypes that explore the future of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR). You'll work alongside automotive engineers and software engineers by creating and experimenting with algorithms in areas related to meshoptimisation and compression, optics, haptics, tracking, displays, computer vision, user experience, audio, and perceptual psychology. We are looking for someone who is self-driven, able to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines and meet them with little supervision. The ability to flourish and thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with a team of creative professionals is a must. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and excellent interpersonal and communication skills within the team and when interacting with our customers. Knowledge and Experience Required: Strong understanding of CAD and Mesh concepts and techniques Strong understanding of Engineering Mathematics Ability to read through journals and research papers to find suitable articles for a given requirement Research and/or work experience in creating Algorithms, Architecture, Compilers in the areas of Mechanical Engineering, Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Physics, Robotics etc Ability to develop, understand and implement complex algorithms efficiently and communicate complex ideas to a non-technical audience Ability to convert algorithms into software POC programs (C/C++/C#/Python/Java), test and communicate / coordinate with engineers for building real applications Dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of VR problem solving Excellent written English and ability to create reports Knowledge and Experience Preferred: Software development work experience, coding competitions, or contributions to open source repositories (e.g. GitHub) Experience in filing patent for the algorithms created Understanding of new technologies used for engineering and manufacturing industries (e.g. data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced visualisation) Demonstrable experience of successful Industrial Research proposal writing, oversight, and award Experience in 3D graphics =========================== Do not miss out on your chance of interview – APPLY NOW!
