Based in Whitstable, we employ around 230 people and specialise in the design and manufacture of a diverse range of connectors and interconnect products for the Military and Aerospace markets. We are investing heavily in our site, and this includes the purchase of multiple Nakamura machines within our Machine Shop. Due to further growth and capacity requirements, we are now seeking to recruit personnel for our Machine Shop. We are looking for experienced CNC Setter / Operators to work on a new Night shift and help us deliver unrivalled levels of excellence. The successful applicants will be responsible for setting and operating CNC multi-tasking lathes to manufacture components from raw material (bar stock) for our internal assembly flow lines to the highest quality and on time. We are offering a competitive and negotiable salary, as well as a33.3% shift premium whilst working the Night shift. Along with company benefits, we also offer exciting career opportunities. Key Responsibilities for the role include: •Setting and operating CNC lathes to produce small to medium size batches of work in a timely manner •Inspecting work to Engineering drawings using various measuring equipment and reporting any quality defects to the Machine Shop Supervisor •Daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checks on machines, including maintaining good housekeeping standards and reporting any issues promptly to supervision •Optimising efficiencies through reduced set-up and cycle times, plus tool life monitoring •De-burring, cleaning, final inspection and completion of all traceability documentation What we’re looking for: •Practical, hands on experience setting and operating multi-axis CNC lathes (3,5 & 8) •Experience of Fanuc controls •Ability to read and understand technical drawings, with the ability to work with minimal supervision •Experience working on Nakamura or similar machines (an advantage) Some of the benefits we offer: •33.3% shift premium whilst working the Night shift •187.5 hours holiday, plus public holidays •A Group Personal Pension scheme, contributed to by the company •Free car parking •Training opportunities •Life Assurance •Company Sick Pay If you fit the bill and meet the above criteria then please apply now for immediate consideration, we would love to hear from you!
