Our client is looking for a Supply Chain Manager on a fixed term contract for 15 months, possibly going perm but with no guarantee. This is a key role within the business, the key deliverables are the modernisation of the existing processes and the development of a small team to deliver challenging, on-going targets for the existing business, which is achieving significant growth and is forecasting substantially more growth over the next 5 years.

This is an end to end supply chain role with a focus towards both the management of vendors and simplification of the Supply Chain.

Key responsibilities:

- Lead, manage and develop the Purchasing Administrator.

- Provide direction and leadership in developing and implementing the supply chain strategy to support the overall business strategy as defined by the Head of Business

- Ensure development plans are in place and regular reviews occur with the Purchasing Administrator in alignment with the business requirement

- Develop and implement the necessary Key Performance Indicators to effectively monitor and measure supply chain performance to targets

- Ownership in developing and implementing new systems and processes to simplify the complexities of continual growth and changing demands, fully utilising the project ERP system, Factory Master.

- Own the delivery of Supply Chain performance for all projects to be delivered by the Operation.

- Observe and uphold all safety standards both on site and at Customer and Supplier sites

- Developing and managing vendors, including sourcing of new suppliers where required.

- Undertake supplier audits in line with requirements for ISO9001, 14001 & 18001 certification. - With the support of the Finance and Commercial Director, negotiate vendor contracts to gain the best possible value for the business

- Proactively managing the supply chain to minimize stock outages through improved forecasting, detailed trend analysis and optimising stock levels by demand categories.

- Create long-term partnerships to ensure continuity of supply of key materials.

- Work alongside Sales, Engineering and Operations teams to deliver supply chain solutions for multi-phase, significant projects recently won.

This is a key position that will require strong communication within all departments such as sales, engineering and production.

We need some with experience in Supply Chain and Purchasing who has some leadership experience. We also require proven commercial exposure and experience of managing relationships with suppliers, preferably with knowledge and experience within Nuclear, Defence or Oil and Gas industries. Understanding of a Continuous Improvement culture, with the ability to continually challenge the ‘norm' is also required.

Ideally you will be Degree qualified in a related discipline (or suitable engineering experience) and an active participant within new product introduction programmes ASME VIII, ISO:9001, F4N, 14001, 18001.

The role is based in Dukinfield but there will be a requirement to travel to customer and supplier sites within the UK. Whilst the role is advertised as a FTC role salaried we are open to a contractor who's day rate isn't a million miles off
