Group Financial Controller: An experienced, ACCA / ACA / CIMA Group Financial Controller is required to take responsibility for the efficient day-to-day management of the financials of the company and the finance team for one of the largest care sector specialists in the UK providing consumables, medical equipment, furniture and fit out services to the care industry.
Reporting to the Finance Director the ideal Group Financial Controller will join a company that prides itself on helping care homes deliver outstanding service by sourcing new hygiene products, providing onsite training and developing systems that simplify admin and procurement. The ideal candidate will be diplomatic, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, good numerical, organisational and time management skills alongside a genuine interest in business.
The company has recently merged with another company and integration is ongoing, therefore this is a dual location role and travel to the company site in Southwater, West Sussex will be required.
Responsibilities:
Compile month end from trial balance level processing adjustments and maintaining monthly working papers to audit standard.
Calculate and reconcile deferred revenue, accrued revenue and work in progress reporting (as required).
Fixed assets capitalisation, calculation of depreciation and amortization.
Creation of backing schedules- Reconciliation of fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, deferred revenue, accrued and other balance sheet reconciliations.
Oversee the invoicing process, spearheading consolidated invoicing to larger clients.
Checking the completeness and accuracy of transactions within NetSuite.
Oversee and manage Purchase Ledger team and the Sales ledger, Credit Control and General ledger teams.
Chair team meetings and oversee HR processes such as performance review.
Monthly consolidation of management accounts
Prepare weekly cash flow report for senior management team.
Lead compilation of monthly profit reforecasts.
Assist with the annual budgeting process (or 12 months rolling).
Participation in monthly operational management meeting to explain forecast and actuals.
Oversee VAT reporting (Quarterly), EC sales list.
Oversee reclaims of import duty from HMRC.
Provide data into statutory accounts (both UK Ltd and statutory consolidation).
Provide information to external accounts to calculate corporation tax and assist external accountants with P11D's for employees.
Other (Payroll year end reporting, Office for Statistics reporting, CIS scheme etc.)
Skills & Experience:
Qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or by experience).
5+ years PQE.
A sound grasp of corporate governance issues.
Good technical all-rounder.
Knowledge of the care sector would be advantageous.
Experience at strategic level within business.
Fit into start up, 'can do' culture.
Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels.
The ability to prioritise work and to work well under pressure.
The capability to work with numerical information, plus analytical and problem-solving skills.
Integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
A sound grasp of corporate governance issues.
Knowledge of Netsuite would be advantageous.
Exposure to dealing with accrued/deferred revenue and work in progress calculation.
