Engineering Manager - Wigan, Greater Manchester

Salary - Competitive

Come and grow with us at Agrial Fresh Produce as the team are looking for an Engineering Manager to support the development of our fantastic, highly driven site. The role is full time (40 hours a week), Monday to Friday with the expectation of flexibility around business needs, as required. The role will be responsible for the whole Engineering function and will be part of the Site Leadership team.

Agrial Fresh Produce Wigan is a farmer owned consumer driven prepared salad and vegetable company. We are part of the French co-operative Agrial; who since 1999 have been working hard to gain success in the UK and are now one of the UK’s leading producers and distributors of pre-packed ready to eat salads and vegetables. We are most recognisable to consumers by our Florette brand. Through acquisitions, Agrial have grown to 5 UK sites and have ambitious future growth plans. The Wigan site has been well established for over 10 years and has a great team that have worked together for a long time, and demonstrate hard work, commitment and the want to make a difference.

The role aims to provide

Manage the financial budgets pertinent to the Engineering and capital functions.
Demonstrate ownership and mange delivery on site projects that will develop the performance of the business in line with strategic, financial and organisational targets.
Maintain a safe working environment for all employees, products and processes.
Work with other departments to comply with product quality standards.
Manage the Engineering department to ensure that all planned and preventative maintenance is completed in a timely and effective manner.
Maximise equipment efficiency (OEE).
Work with the Manufacturing Manager to improve operational KPIs.
Maximise involvement and potential of team members through effective communication and ongoing focus on people development.
Responsible for controlling, monitoring and assessing Engineering labour requirements.

Skills & Experience

Strong organisational ability.
Management experience and the ability to develop teams.
Strong background of budget and capital expenditure management.
Substantial knowledge and understanding of High Care environments.
Relevant engineering qualifications (HND/HNC, IOSH etc.)
Previous experience in delivering KPIs, cross functional relationships and decision making.
Can do attitude and a true motivator.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
