Trainee Account Manager – Financial Services

Location: Mansfield

Salary: £18,000 - £25,000

A leading financial service provider is seeking to recruit a Trainee Account Manager to join their team on a structured training program to ultimately become a qualified Account Manager.

This role is a progression role and a training programme will be provided over 2 years to give the right candidate all the skills and experience relevant to becoming an Account Manager for the company.

The Training Program will be structured, so you will gain access to all areas within the company and become an expert in Mortgage products.

Months 1 -12

* Complete business induction

* Underwriting/Credit Policy/System Training.

* Provide exceptional customer support to clients, helping to exceed client expectation

* Process DIP’s and illustration requests received from intermediaries within agreed SLAs

* Handling mortgage, lending criteria and process queries from intermediaries, by both telephone and email, within SLA to proactively encourage increased levels of business

* Attending seminars with ISS colleagues, including preparation of literature and other sales aids in order to educate mortgage intermediaries on our products and services

* Liaising with intermediaries in a professional manner, keeping them up to date with their cases and resolving issues where required

* Undertake and successfully pass the Society Lending Policy Test

Months 12- 18

* Ownership of local accounts

* Contacting new brokers and first time introducers to make them aware of Society products, contact points, lending criteria and processes

* Contribute towards departmental business planning

* To support the wider ISS team in developing broker relationships

* To undertake the required number of weekly visits to identified distributors to promote the product range

* To achieve an agreed level of sales of introduced mortgages, in the right mix and margin to include, prime residential, buy to let, shared ownership and equity, Versatility and RIO (and other products where appropriate)

* Ensure effective liaison and teamwork with other business areas including the Mortgage, Marketing and Product teams to achieve a coordinated, integrated approach to developing business opportunities

* To continually review the quality of mortgage applications (at broker level)

Months 18 – 24

* To identify relationships where there is the potential to write good quality volume mortgage business. Develop and build close working relationships with identified brokers over a period of time with regular visitations. Promote and sell Society products without direct supervision.

* To support the National Development Manager in building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with Key Accounts

* To regularly check on progress of applications in order to ensure that brokers and customers receive the quality of service consistent with the Society’s service standards, reporting any issues to the National Development Manager.

* Ensure effective liaison and teamwork with other business areas including the Mortgage, Marketing and Product teams to achieve a co-ordinated, integrated approach to developing business opportunities

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

* Financial services experience ideally within the Mortgages sector

* Excellent communication skills

* The ability to influence others

* Presentation skills

* Microsoft skills including, PowerPoint, Excel and Word

* A Full UK driving license is pivotal for this role
