Legal Cashier/ Legal Accounts Person

An exciting opportunity has arisen as Legal Cashier/ Legal Accounts Person to join our high-class Legal Solicitors practice to handle the accounting and finance functions of the solicitor's practice such as recording day-to-day financial transactions and ensuring compliance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules and our own internal procedures.

As a Legal Cashier your main responsibilities will be:

* Daily bank reconciliations;

* Checking property completion bundles;

* Sending monies through banking system for property completions;

* Daily BACS payments;

* Paying stamp duty and indemnity policy payments;

* Assisting with search fees and Land Registry postings;

* Stop cheque instructions on banking portal;

* Daily cheque requests printing;

* Month end reporting (Assisting where required);

* Assisting with training interns;

* Reporting to Accounts Manager.

Skills and experiences required as a legal Cashier will be;

* Strong IT skills with previous experience of MS Office (particularly Excel);

* Ability to prioritise workloads;

* Ability to work to tight month end deadlines;

* Excellent attention to detail;

* Proactive approach to work;

* Ability to pick up new tasks quickly;

* At least 2 years-experience in accounts within a law firm & experience working with accounting software;

* Good communication skills both written and verbal;

* Ability to work under pressure;

* Good personal organisation skills;

* Self-starter and motivator;

* Team player;

* Able to manage client relations;

* Demonstrates a ‘can do’ attitude
