Temporary, 12 months (maternity cover)
35 hours per week (7 hours per day), Monday - Friday
Up to £28,000
Location – Mill Hill, London

We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to support the Finance Director in managing the team and to understand the importance of complete and accurate system data, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.

You will be responsible for managing the Finance Assistant functions, ensuring the cash book, sales ledger and purchase ledger control accounts are reconciled on a regular basis.

Other key requirements include, but are not limited to:

•Ensuring the sales and purchase ledger processes are effectively maintained, reviewing the processes and workflows in place (e.g. cash book, aged debtors, Bankline payments, aged creditors, invoices and payment runs).
•Assisting the Management Accountant in preparation of month end reporting through coordination of AP/AR duties.
•Assisting the preparation of annual budgets.
•Dealing with queries from auditors promptly and effectively.
•Supporting the Finance Director by reviewing the systems and upgrades, as well as producing weekly reports.

We are seeking someone who is AAT qualified or has equivalent experience. Having a clear understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and experience in using accounting packages or management reporting systems is desirable. You must also be highly numerate and have a fair level of competence in Microsoft Office packages e.g. Excel and Word.

The relevant person will have a high level of attention to detail with the ability to identify, analyse and resolve issues in financial control.

Whilst having the ability to work independently, you must be able to work collaboratively with your colleagues, assisting in leading the team by way of professional example and enthusiasm.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, understand the importance of timely, clear and meaningful management information and observe strict confidentiality at all times.

You must also have flexibility in hours and work practices to ensure deadlines are met. Travel to the different Estates across the UK may sometimes be required.
